SeqLog collects nothing about you. There is no account to create, no analytics SDK, no telemetry, no crash reporter, and no server of ours that your notes ever touch.
Your vault is a folder of .md files on your own disk. SeqLog reads and
writes those files. That is the whole data model.
Who is responsible
SeqLog is published by:
- Guangzhou Agile Byte Information Technology Co., Ltd. (广州敏捷字节信息科技有限公司)
- Unified Social Credit Code:

What stays on your Mac
Everything you write: notes, journal entries, page titles, tags, links and any images you drag in. There is no index, no cache database and no sync service, so there is nothing to upload even in principle. Delete the app and the folder is still there, readable in any text editor.
When SeqLog touches the network
Three times, and none of them carry your notes.
- Update checks. SeqLog asks
seqlog.comfor a small XML file listing the latest version. The request carries no identifier and no system profile — Sparkle's system profiling is off. Our host (Cloudflare) records the request in standard server logs, which include your IP address, the same as visiting any website. - GitHub sign-in — only if you start it. If you use the built-in Git features with GitHub, you authorise SeqLog through GitHub's device flow. The resulting token is stored in your macOS Keychain and used only to talk to GitHub as you. It is never sent anywhere else.
- Git push and pull — only if you configure a remote. Your notes go directly from your Mac to the remote you chose. Nothing routes through us. If your remote is a private repository on your own server, we never see any of it — and could not.
This website
No analytics, no cookies, no tag manager, no third-party requests. The fonts are served from this domain, not a CDN. The site is static files on Cloudflare, whose server logs record requests as described above.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent or share data, because we do not have any.
- We do not profile you, A/B test you, or measure your engagement.
- We do not require an account for any feature of the macOS app.
Children
SeqLog is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, regardless of age.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the change will be described in the release notes of the version it applies to.
